The brief (own product): one native Windows app that captures, annotates, records, pins, and reads text off the screen — good enough to replace the paid tools, honest enough to leave every local feature free, and signed properly so it installs on a locked-down work machine without a SmartScreen fight.
The app is WinUI 3 on .NET, native rather than a wrapped web view, with OCR running on-device through Windows Media OCR in 25+ languages — screen text never leaves the machine to be read. Distribution is a code-signed MSIX that auto-updates from the official signed release, plus a Microsoft Store listing that passed certification review, so it installs cleanly on managed Windows without an unknown-publisher warning. The business model is drawn on purpose: every local capture, annotation, recording, and OCR feature is free with no nag and no expiry, and only hosted sharing sits behind the $8/mo Pro tier. Cancel and the local app keeps working — nothing you already made stops opening. The product site is Next.js on Vercel with Stripe subscriptions, a passwordless magic-link account portal for managing shared links, and a homepage rebuilt as a scroll-scrubbed camera flight into a workstation, where each beat demonstrates a real capability instead of describing it. Customer share pages and raw media are noindexed so nobody's screenshot ends up in a search index.
